Murder in Hackney

October7

I would like to hear comments on the article in the Hackney Gazzette. Here is a summary.

Cem Duzgun, 21, murdered in Clapton, Hackney, London, UK

A shop worker from Islington, named, Cem Duzgun, 21 years of age, was murdered in Upper Clapton, Hackney at 10.50pm on Monday after visiting Clapton FC, a Turkish social club. Two men shot him dead outside Clapton railway station.

Not even four miles away, 23 year old Oktay Erbasli was killed sitting in his car in Tottenham. Detectives say there is a possibility of a connection.

What could also be related, is the murder of Ahmet Paytak, 50 years of age, also a shop worker who was caught up in a dispute between two gangs in Islington last March.

“Murder in Hackney”

I’m very upset to hear and see such things in such well-developed city streets. Murders in Hackney are getting all too common, and the area of the incident is known as Murder Mile.

Firstly welcome to Murder Mile. Those of you unfamilar with this one mile strip of land in East london, will be intrigued to know, that in the past decade or so, this road has staged a host of gangland murders; in fact so many that it has been dubbed the Infamous Murder Mile.

And in regards to it being in a developed city street, i assure you that you could not be more wrong. This is a street that is a sore sight to the eyes, which is in fact due to the Hackney Council not providing any funds or any sort of regeneration to what is one of the most deprived areas in the whole of London.

But it is a tragedy that another young life has been taken in the ongoing battle for control of the lucrative drugs trade.

Is it not time that the government introduced stronger measures to get rid of drugs from the very streets we live on?

Keeping in mind that a few years back the Councillor/ Mayor did a runner with the governments money, the place is not to bad. A few years back you had the lot, including drive by shooting, this was a no mans land as far as the bobby on the beat was concerned.

Give it time, it’ll turn out allright. Gang land criminals killing each other, the streets are cleaner, without the help of the cops.
