Sky TV on Xbox 360 Console

October27

From today, owners of the Xbox 360 console are now able to receive paid for sky channels in the United Kingdom. For 15 GBP per month, BSkyB are offering 24 different channels. The number of channels is likely to increase in due course.

You can now watch sky on the Xbox 360 without requiring a satellite dish. All you have to do is subscribe to the Sky Player service and become a member of Xbox live.

The billionaire company are proudly offering the service to viewers that pay for sky TV and own an Xbox. This will form a means of competition to the PlayStation 3 blue ray player, because in the UK, the 360 consoles is now shifting from a games system into a Microsoft Xbox Television set. PlayStation 3 originally have the advantage of blue ray and High Definition ability, which sky TV on the Xbox 360 Console still lacks. Do you think users will prefer the system over other consoles for the purpose of watching paid TV channels without using a dish? Or is this a step forward for something bigger from Microsoft?
